Bij Roosenstein Wolke (RW) zetten wij een belangrijke stap in onze missie om de kledingindustrie duurzamer te maken. Afgelopen najaar zijn we begonnen met het recyclen van oude kledingstukken tot nieuwe garens, en we zijn overweldigd door het enthousiasme van onze klanten.
Dankzij de grote hoeveelheid ingezamelde oude producten staat er inmiddels een aanzienlijke batch klaar om gerecycled te worden in Portugal. Ons doel is om in de winter van 2025/2026 de eerste producten van gerecycled materiaal op de markt te brengen.Â
Groot succes en uitbreiding
We hadden verwacht dat ons circulaire programma een belangrijk onderdeel van onze bedrijfsvoering zou worden, maar de reacties die we hebben ontvangen, hebben al onze verwachtingen overtroffen. We zijn ontzettend trots dat we nu een batch hebben die groot genoeg is om de eerste productie te draaien.
Naast het recyclen van onze eigen producten, hebben we een grote uitbreiding van ons programma aangekondigd: we accepteren nu ook kleding van andere merken voor recycling, mits deze volledig uit katoen of wol bestaat. Dit besluit kwam na talloze verzoeken van klanten die vroegen of we alleen onze eigen producten konden recyclen. De afgelopen tijd hebben we naast de vele reacties ook regelmatig de vraag gekregen of we echt alleen onze eigen producten terugnemen. Tot nu toe waren we terughoudend met het innemen van kleding van andere merken omdat we niet zeker waren van de kwaliteit. Echter, na overleg met onze partners hebben we besloten om dit open te stellen. Op deze manier kunnen we een nog grotere impact maken op de kledingindustrie.Â
DuurzaamheidsdoelstellingenÂ
We willen dat kleding die nog draagbaar is, niet voor recycling wordt aangeboden. We moedigen aan om deze kledingstukken een tweede leven te geven door ze te verkopen of weg te geven. We willen graag dat mensen voor deze artikelen een nieuwe eigenaar zoeken. Verkoop het artikel aan iemand anders, of geef het desnoods weg. We willen alleen producten terug waar mensen totaal geen waarde meer aan hechten. Daarom krijg je bij ons ook geen kortingsbon of iets dergelijks. We willen het weggooien van goede producten niet aanmoedigen.Â
Retourproces vergemakkelijkenÂ
Om het inleveren van oude kleding zo eenvoudig mogelijk te maken, bieden we een volledig gefaciliteerd retourproces aan. Klanten kunnen online een gratis retour aanmelden via onze website en hun kledingstukken ook inleveren bij deelnemende winkeliers. Dit maakt het voor consumenten makkelijk om deel te nemen aan ons circulaire initiatief en bij te dragen aan een duurzamere kledingindustrie.Â
Met deze stappen tonen wij onze toewijding aan duurzaamheid en innovatie in de modewereld. We blijven ons circulaire programma uitbreiden en aanpassen om op deze manier een nog grotere positieve impact te hebben op het milieu. De winter van 2025/2026 belooft een spannende periode te worden voor zowel ons als onze klanten, met de introductie van de eerste volledig gerecyclede producten.Â
