The Luxury Frisian skipper's sweater 100% wool | Ids is a variation of our classic Frisian skipper's sweater | Fries. This model has proven itself over the years as the perfect classic for any wardrobe. From skipper to fisherman to fashion statement, this sweater suits anyone who appreciates the quality of a wool sweater. At least, unfortunately, not everyone.

For over 60 years, we have been making the Frisian skipper's sweater from the same sturdy and therefore strong wool quality. The sweater was originally developed by Frans Roosenstein & Hetty Wolke as a true work sweater that had to be able to withstand the elements on board. As mentioned, this wool is super strong, but due to the thicker fiber, it is not for everyone. Especially for these people, we have now developed the Luxury Frisian skipper's sweater 100% wool | Ids. The same fit and the same design, but in a finer wool quality. In addition, we use the latest techniques for making the Ids.

The Frisian skipper's sweater has been made in the same way, and by the same supplier, for over 60 years. We also still make the Frisian skipper's sweater on the same machines. That gives the Frisian its special quality and appearance. However, new knitting & sewing techniques have been developed over the years. We have applied these new developments to the Luxury Frisian skipper's sweater 100% wool | Ids. So, if you are looking for the most authentic Dutch skipper's sweater, but also looking for the comfort of a modern sweater, then the Ids is a fantastic option.

The Ids weighs approximately 700 grams, which of course varies by size. This makes it a wonderfully warm wool sweater. If you are looking for a really thick wool sweater, then the Skipper's sweater 100% wool | Douwe or the Skipper's sweater 100% wool | Douwe UNDYED might also be an option. These sweaters weigh more than a kilo.

The Ids is made from German yarn. This yarn is spun and dyed within the EU.
