WIEGER | Sailor-Pullover mit Windstopper
The Wieger skipper's jumper with windstopper is the thickest skipper's jumper from Roosenstein Wolke to date. The outside of the jumper is entirely made of our 100% wool yarn. In addition, the jumper is fully lined with a windproof and breathable lining made from 100% recycled PET bottles. This ensures that the Wieger skipper's jumper with windstopper combines the wearing comfort of wool with the technical properties of the recycled lining. Due to the combination of the lining's membrane and the wool outer fabric, the jumper does not feel clammy or hot. It is truly a jumper for outdoors, but when you go inside, you don't have to hastily take off the jumper because it's too hot. You really wear this jumper like a coat. Even on colder days around freezing point, the jumper is wonderfully comfortable to wear as an outer layer. You can then comfortably combine the jumper with a merino wool undershirt. This also makes the jumper ideal for activities such as golfing or skiing. The 100% yarn of the Wieger is naturally a little oily, which makes the jumper naturally water-repellent and keeps you wonderfully dry and warm in a typical Dutch drizzle.
We make the Wieger from a sustainable wool quality, spun by Schoeller. This yarn distinguishes itself by its quality. This 100% wool yarn approaches the softness of Merino wool, but has the strength of virgin wool. This means the jumper can even withstand seawater. This yarn possesses these properties without being stiff.
This wool quality is referred to by us as Doge Jo Wol. “Doge Jo Wol?” is a common Frisian saying and means: “Are you really good?”. Well, our wool certainly is! The wool is obtained from sheep that are kept in a good way. There is no animal abuse, and during the processing, respect for people, animals and the environment is maintained.
For the Wieger, we use a 100% recycled lining. The reason we opt for 100% compositions is that we can recycle these materials in-house into new yarns. This also applies to the lining. Would you like to know more about how we reuse our old products? Then take a look at this page.
