What is mulesing?
Mulesing is a procedure primarily applied to some Merino sheep in Australia. It involves removing a piece of skin around the tail to prevent flystrike. Flystrike is a serious condition where flies lay eggs in moist skin folds, which, if left untreated, causes a lot of pain and health problems.
Although mulesing was originally introduced to protect sheep, the method has been a subject of discussion for years due to animal welfare concerns.
Why do we choose mulesing-free wool?
