For five generations, the Roosenstein family has been making clothing based on the same conviction: quality takes time.
Our story begins in 1886.
Johannus Hillebrandus Roosenstein, a young merchant, traveled the Frisian markets. Sometimes the road home was too long, and he slept under his market stall. What began with hard work, craftsmanship, and entrepreneurship grew into a family business that still exists today, almost 140 years later.
Much has changed since then. The world moves faster. Products are made to be replaced. Trends follow each other ever more quickly.
We still believe in a different approach. In clothing that lasts.
In natural materials that become more beautiful the more they are worn. In craftsmanship that is visible in every detail. In designs that do not lose their value after one season.
That is why we work with high-quality wool, merino wool, and organic cotton. That is why we produce together with specialized family businesses in Europe. And that is why we design collections that are not made for today only, but also for tomorrow.
For us, sustainability does not begin with a certificate or a slogan.
It begins with making something worth keeping. Something that will be worn for years.
Something that endures.
That was the idea with which Johannus Roosenstein started his business.
And that is still the idea behind every garment that bears our name.
