The Frans skipper's sweater is our ode to where it all began. Inspired by the sweater that grandpa Frans Roosenstein always wore: sturdy, warm, and indestructible. We have recreated that classic, in our own circular way.

The sweater has a round neck, is coarsely knitted, and feels robust. It is the heaviest sweater in our collection, designed to last for years. The fit is unisex, making this sweater comfortable and timelessly wearable for everyone.

For this sweater, we use our own circular 100% wool yarn. Half of it consists of old wool sweaters that we collect, the other half of certified wool that we purchase ourselves. This way, we know exactly where our wool comes from and can monitor its quality and origin. In this way, we bring existing materials back to life, without compromising on comfort or appearance.

Because the Frans sweater is made entirely of wool, it is not only made from recycled wool but also fully recyclable. We can reprocess the same fiber two to three times into new yarn and new products, without compromising quality. When the fiber then becomes too short for clothing, it first gets a second purpose as insulation material. Afterwards, we investigate whether the remaining material can be safely and responsibly composted. This way, we work step by step towards the most closed possible loop in which almost nothing is lost.

Our choice for pure wool is conscious. Much clothing nowadays is made from synthetic fibers, which release microplastics with every wash and wear. These particles end up in the water and eventually in nature. Wool is a natural material that is biodegradable and leaves no microplastics behind. In this way, we contribute to a cleaner world, from beginning to end.
