WINDE | Last XS Sizes | Windstopper sweater 100% Merino
The last few small sizes of this fine windstopper!
The Winde is a finely knitted windstopper sweater made from 100% sustainable merino wool, lined with a 100% recycled PET bottle lining from A. Sampaio. The Amico yarn from the Italian yarn house Filivivi is ethically sourced and obtained. This European yarn is super soft and of the highest quality. The windstopper therefore remains beautiful, even after frequent wear. We have knitted the sweater as thinly as possible, with the windstopper lining only on the torso. This makes the sweater light and comfortable and keeps you wonderfully warm when it's windy, without getting too hot when the wind drops. The sweater features our inside-out seams and wonderfully supple ribbed cuffs.
The lining we have incorporated into the Winde is a durable lining of very high technical quality. We have specifically selected this lining for its technical aspects. These are:
- Windproof, but breathable
- Flexible stretch material
- Quiet material (low rustling)
On the water, during a walk, or on the golf course, the Winde is perfect for all these occasions! The sweater is also suitable as a "midlayer" in winter. Thanks to the thermoregulating effect of the Amico Merino wool, the Winde is nice and cool in warmer moments and keeps you warm when needed. These unique properties are only possible with 100% wool yarn.
Is your wool good?
As mentioned, the Douwe Skipper's sweater is made from a sustainable wool quality, spun by Schoeller. This yarn distinguishes itself by its quality. This 100% wool yarn approaches the softness of Merino wool but has the strength of coarser wool. This means the sweater is pill-free, hard-wearing, and can even withstand seawater. This yarn has these properties without being stiff.
This wool quality is referred to by us as Doge Jo Wol. “Doge Jo Wol?” is a common Frisian expression and means: “Are you good?”. Well, our wool is certainly good! The wool is obtained from sheep that are kept in a good way. There is no animal abuse, and the processing respects people, animals, and the environment.
