WIEGER | Skipper's sweater with windstopper
The Wieger skipper's sweater with windstopper is Roosenstein Wolke's thickest skipper's sweater to date. The outside of the sweater is entirely made of our 100% wool yarn. In addition, the sweater is fully lined with a windproof and breathable lining made from 100% recycled PET bottles. This ensures that the Wieger skipper's sweater with windstopper combines the wearing comfort of wool with the technical properties of the recycled lining. Due to the combination of the membrane of the lining and the wool outer fabric, the sweater does not feel clammy or hot. It is truly a sweater for outdoors, but when you go indoors, you don't have to frantically take off the sweater because it's too hot. You really wear this sweater like a jacket. Even on colder days around freezing point, the sweater is wonderfully comfortable to wear as an outer layer. You can then very comfortably combine the sweater with a merino wool undershirt & in addition, the Round neck sweater 100% Merino | Rien or Polo shirt 100% merino | Nanne is a wonderful mid-layer. This makes the sweater also extremely suitable as a sweater for, for example, golfing or skiing. The 100% yarn of the Wieger is naturally a bit greasy, so the sweater is naturally water-repellent and keeps you wonderfully dry and warm in a typical Dutch drizzle.
We make the Wieger from a sustainable wool quality, spun by Schoeller. This yarn distinguishes itself by its quality. This 100% wool yarn approaches the softness of Merino wool, but has the strength of virgin wool. This way, the sweater can even withstand seawater. This yarn has these properties without being stiff.
We refer to this wool quality as Doge Jo Wol. “Doge Jo Wol?” is a well-known Frisian expression and means: “Are you good?”. Well, our wool certainly is good! The wool is obtained from sheep that are kept in a good way. There is no animal abuse and the processing process is carried out with respect for people, animals and the environment.
For the Wieger, we use a 100% recycled lining. The reason we choose 100% compositions is that we can recycle these materials in-house into new yarns. This also applies to the lining. Do you want to know more about how we reuse our old products? Then take a look at this page.
